By Mr. Cannuli

First-year head coach Tony Aguilar has the Eastern Guilford wildcats in the NCHSAA state playoffs. Eastern travels to unbeaten Lee County Friday night in Sanford. The Yellow Jackets have averaged 45.1 points per game on offense and allowed just 10.6 points per game on defense. EGHS averaged 29.9 points on offense and 28.1 on defense. Quarterback Colin Johnson leads the Yellow Jacket offense. Johnson has thrown 21 touchdowns and just one interception. Running back A.J. Boulware has rushed for 1,422 yards and 22 TDs and on defense Desmond Evans has 10 sacks in 10 games this season. Friday’s kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
